Azerbaijan participated at the session of the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions

The 15^th session of the Intergovernmental Committee of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions was held in a virtual format on February 8-11, 2022.

Azerbaijan is a member of the Intergovernmental Committee for 2019-2023.

Our country was represented at the session by the representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the National Commission for UNESCO and the Permanent Delegation to UNESCO.

During the session, 14 items on the creative industries were discussed and relevant decisions were made.

At the opening of the session, Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, Ambassador Elman Abdullayev spoke about the work done by Azerbaijan in the sphere of the creative industries, the construction works conducted in Karabakh, as well as the Khari Bulbul Festival in Shusha.

Afterwards, the Permanent Delegation actively took part in the discussion of various items as "Creative Azerbaijan" portal, International Fond for Cultural Diversity, activities of micro, small and medium-sized cultural and creative enterprises, creative projects, future activities of the Committee for 2022-2023, cooperation with Civil Society Organizations, etc. The position of our country on such issues was presented, relevant amendments were proposed to the texts of the draft resolutions.
